Head brewer and owner, Robert Frye, began home brewing over a decade ago as a means to get to know his future brother-in-law (also one of our owners). The rabbit hole was deep and a hobby quickly became a passion. From weekend brewing sessions in the driveway, neighborhood tastings, and regional brewing competitions, he decided to pursue opening a small brewery and taproom. Brewing beer is a passion that is intimately linked to creating new friendships and fortifying a sense of community. The purpose of Elder Son is to create a neighborhood “watering hole” that can be a personal and inviting taproom. You’ll see our owners Robert & Melanie, Chris & Terri, Mike & Evelyn, Randall & Elizabeth, and Bryan & Bri at the brewery often. Give a “hello” and hang out!
